This is famously the location of the headquarters of the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The most expensive subdivisions include Langley Forest and Parkview Hills; Belleview and Fairview; and McLean Hamlet. These neighborhoods each have their own distinctive feel to them, and some places around McLean, despite how close they are to so much commercial and government activity, are very laid back and peaceful.

Tysons Corner Center is an enormous, enclosed mall; the largest in the region. It’s only twelve miles to Washington DC from this location. It is very walkable. It has numerous high rise apartments, smaller spaces and more renters than owners. Most of the homes were built in the late 1970s through the 1990s, but there are also many from 2000 and later. Most are small, with one or two bedrooms.

Heather Hill

Heather Hill is situated in McLean. It’s a smaller community, consisting of approximately thirty homes. It has colonial designs, along with tudors, offering some variety. The lot sizes here range from a quarter of an acre to half an acre, with two-car garages included with most of the homes. The houses here date from the 1970s.


Lewisville is located at the southeast of McLean and is one of the less expensive areas to look for McLean real estate. Like most of the areas around it, there are many homes that were built during the 1970s through 1990s, but also a good percentage that were built between 1940 and 1969. Most of them are smaller homes, with one to two bedrooms. There are a lot of rental properties in this area of McLean. The area is very convenient to the Dulles Toll Road and the Beltway.
